Each year, over 1,500 people come together in Charlotte to work out, drink beer, and raise money for the Changing Lives Together Foundation.

In case you can’t tell, community and giving back are a big part of Auger & Auger’s mission. And one of our favorite ways to give back is at one of the most fun, heart-pumping local charity events—Beers & Burpees in Charlotte!

This year marks the fifth year in a row that Auger & Auger is sponsoring the Beers & Burpees Charity Event. On October 2, 2021, over 80 local gyms will partner together to host the event where over 1,500 people will come together to work out, drink a little beer, and raise money for the Changing Lives Together (CLT) Foundation.

What is the Beers & Burpees Charity Event?

The 11th Annual Beers & Burpees Charity Event is an all-day event where teams of two complete three rounds of a workout that includes activities like a run, pull-ups, and, of course, burpees. The “workouts” are segmented by the following five divisions:

  • Regular 
  • Teen
  • Competitive
  • Adaptive Athletes
  • Kid’s Brownies & Burpees

Auger & Auger sponsors the Adaptive Athlete division

Auger & Auger is once again sponsoring the Adaptive Athlete division at the $5k level of this year’s Beers & Burpees Charity Event. The Adaptive Athlete division is for individuals competing with various levels of ability, ranging from wheelchair-bound to amputees and cerebral palsy. 

In North Carolina, over a million adults and children are living with some form of disability, impacting communities, livelihood, and health. The Adaptive Athlete division of Beers & Burpees helps raise awareness of the importance and need for adaptive sports and recreational opportunities within our local communities. 

Registration for the Adaptive Athlete division is free for all adults and children who qualify. A truly inspiring and empowering experience, the Adaptive Athlete division is an inclusive environment for all, creating individual modifications for all who wish to participate.

All proceeds will go to the Changing Lives Together (CLT) Foundation

This year, all proceeds of the Beers & Burpees charity event will go directly to the Changing Lives Together (CLT) Foundation, whose mission is to enrich and change the lives of special needs kids and kids with life-altering medical circumstances in the greater Charlotte area.

How does CLT enrich and change the lives of local special needs children?

  • Camp CLT – Camp CLT is a sleepaway camp in North Carolina specifically designed for and exclusively for kids with physical disabilities who are in middle or high school.
  • College scholarships – CLT provides local high school graduates with life-altering medical conditions or special needs with financial grants to help them further their education and advance professionally. 
  • Community and individual support – Throughout the year, CLT provides financial assistance to kids and teenagers with life-altering medical conditions and special needs to create experiences and improve quality of life.

The 11th Annual Beers & Burpees Charity Event takes place October 2, 2021, at Indian Land CrossFit, just two miles south of the Charlotte/Ballantyne area. The Auger & Auger team will be there competing in support of a great cause, and we hope to see you there.
